Glittering rhinestones! This very striking Art Deco hat ornament, is created from heavy black plastic in a stylized fan design. The edges are embellished with rhinestones and also carved. The carved areas are painted ivory. The plastic is quite heavy but not bakelite. The fan shape is slightly curved so that it will fit nicely against the contours of a hat. Nearly perfect condition. There are some very light scuffs to the top edge of the center fan shape and a slight bend at the base of the stem but no chips, cracks or damage to the plastic or rhinestones. The bend in the stem may be an intentional part of the design. The rhinestones are all present, clear, and full of sparkles. No dark stones. The tip screws on a threaded brass stem. Circa: 1915-1930
