Big, beautiful dragonfly! This is a very large and intricately designed metal and enamel dragonfly pin, accented with aurora borealis rhinestones. The wings, upper body, and the eyes are enamelled in the basse-taille style. All of the areas of color that you see on the wings, the upper body and the head are beneath a transclucent enamel layer including the aurora borealis rhinestones. The pin is not marked 'Sterling' and does appear to be a base silver color metal. Very nice detailing on the metal of the wings and on the lower body. The detailwork on the metal is so involved that it was virtually impossible to pick all of it up in my photos. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage to the transclucent enamel, rhinestones or metal. One hairline scratch, 1/4 inch long on tip of top right wing. Signed. Catherine Popesco, France.
