Beautiful gold filigree! This is a very elegant looking vermeil (gilt over silver) hatpin. It is in very good condition with only a little wear on the stem and no damage or repairs. There are a few areas on the stem where the gold has worn away ever so slightly to reveal the silver beneath.I have a link on my Link Exchange page to an interesting article written by Maureen Timm and published in The Antique Shoppe newspaper on the history of hatpins.
