Victorian Embossed Gold Gilt Bracelet

Victorian gold over brass bracelet with elaborately embossed and engraved clasp. The five rows of chain are not connected to one another but hang freely. The bracelet closes with a push clasp that is in excellent working condition. Overall condition, Extremely Fine with no damage or repairs. Much of the gold has worn off revealing the brass beneath which has aged to a very nice patina. No dark areas of corrosion. The areas in my photos that are showing up as dark are caused by reflections. I have been told that this is possibly a very early unmarked Sarah Coventry piece. I have no authentication of this, however. It is not listed in any of the books I have on Sarah Coventry jewelry, signed or unsigned. The length is 6-1/2 inches which is a size consistent with the average size of a Victorian bracelet. A bracelet created during the time that Sarah Coventry jewelry became popular would have been one inch longer. In this decade, the standard size of a bracelet is 7-1/2 - 8 inches. The width of the ornate clasp is 1 inch. The chain portion of the bracelet is 3/4 inch. Gift boxed. (The box is not antique or vintage.)
