Vintage Brass and Glass Spider and Fly Pin

Click on a thumbnail image to see enlarged images.

Come a little closer said the spider to the fly. And what a gorgeous little fly she is too with her ornately stamped gold plated brass wings and sparkling emerald glass body. All metal parts are gold plated brass. The spider's head and abdomen are set with faceted amethyst glass. All glass stones are prong set with the exception of the fly's eyes. The glass is foil backed. The two are connected to one another by a brass chain. The pin portion is attached to the back of the fly with the spider dangling from the chain. Extremely Fine condition with no damage or repairs to metal or glass. Some wear to the foil backing of the spider's abdomen and also to the fly's. Not a significant problem. The glass sparkles nicely. Minimal wear to the gold plating on the spider and the fly. The brass chain has aged to a very nice antique patina. Not signed. Older C type clasp. Not signed. Gift boxed. (The box is not vintage.)
