Embroidered Brown Satin and Velvet Flapper Hat

Click on a thumbnail image to see enlarged images.

Warm fall colors. A charming hat from the flapper era created from brown satin that has been richly embroidered with flowers in golds and pale coral. The 1-1/2 inch edge of the hat is trimmed in chocolate brown velvet with a chocolate brown velvet embellishment on one side. This hat is the brimless helmet style so popular in the 1920s. Lined with gold satin. Very Good condition with no damage to the brown satin or the embroidery. No holes or repairs. Very slight wear to the velvet embellishment at the side of the hat along its edges and along the bottom front edge of the hat. One would have to look very closely to notice the areas. The lining is intact but fragile with fraying of the fabric along the inside edge and the very top. This can't be seen when the hat is worn. Inside back edge slightly soiled from wear. No milliner's label. Size Medium, 22-1/2 inches around inside edge. My model, Nicole, has a 22-1/2 inch head size and this hat is very snug on her. If you want to wear this hat, take hair into consideration when measuring your head. Not a hat to be worn over 'big hair'. Comes with a hatbox. (not vintage) (Item #10368)
