A millinery extravaganza by Jack McConnell, milliner extraordinaire of New York. I double dare you to wear this hat to church!! Actually, it is to beautiful to wear at all. A work of art that should be displayed in a glass case and immortalized in a painting. The body of the hat is created from an ivory colored stiff strawlike material. An ivory hatband in the same material as the hat surrounds the crown. Edged inside with gold backed ivory lace. Not lined. The lower front edge is embellished with large silk roses in shades of ivory, pale pink, fuchsia and red violet. The entire hat is approx. 14 inches in diameter. The front edge is 5 inches from top to bottom where it touches your forehead. 4 inch diameter roses. Condition is very fine with no damage or repairs. The lowest petals of two of the roses show very faint perspiration stains but no staining otherwise. The roses are ever so slightly wilted and a very, very small amount of fraying at the edges of them. The milliner's tag reads 'Jack McConnell New York' with a red feather attached to the back of it. Jack McConnell hats with red feathers are one-of-a-kind and personally created by Jack McConnell. Size Medium, 22 inches around inside band.
